GT attaches great importance to both internal and external audits. It requires its partners to get their accounts externally audited, particularly those that have been provided with scaling up funds for their operations. GT also conducts audits of its ongoing direct implementation projects that are under implementation in different countries. External audit of the direct implementation projects is done either by local or international audit firms.

In 2009, Grameen Trust conducted external audit of Aceh Grameen Credit Project (AGCP) in Indonesia. AGCP has been in operation since 2006 in Indonesia. A Grameen expert with more than 15 years of experience conducted the audit. The expert audited the Balance Sheet, the Statement of Income, Financial Statements, and Cash flow statement and then submitted the audit report to Grameen Trust upon arrival in Bangladesh.
