Direct Implementation Program
(BOT/BOM/BOO Projects)
A Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) /
Build-Operate-Manage (BOM) /
Build-Operate-Own (BOO) project
is the direct implementation approach to set up a microcredit program following the Grameen approach in a country. Grameen Trust has introduced BOT/BOM/BOO projects with a view to set up sustainable microcredit programs in locations that are poverty stricken, devastated by natural calamities or badly affected by civil war. This program has proved to be effective as it significantly reduces the time required for establishment and implementation of the program. The program is also significantly cost-effective. GT deploys its experienced staff to set up and implement BOT/BOM/BOO projects that lowers implementation time as well as training cost.
At present, Grameen Trust has eight ongoing direct implementation projects in Costa Rica, India, Indonesia, Kosovo, Mexico, Turkey, U.S.A and Zambia and one joint collaboration project in Guatemala. The BOT project in Myanmar has already been handed over to the host organization.
