Ex-Managing Director, Grameen Trust
Professor Latifee was the1st Managing Director of Grameen Trust which helped implementation of more than 152 Grameen replication programs in 41 countries, including 18 microcredit programs directly implemented by it.
Professor Latifee is considered an expert and is well known for his contribution in the field of microfinance, poverty alleviation, financial inclusion, social business and value building growth due to his long experience with Grameen Bank, Grameen Trust, Grameen partners and Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) worldwide.
Professor Latifee is the winner of Business Week’s Stars of Asia Award, 2001. He has been a longtime associate of Nobel Laureate of Professor Muhammad Yunus, father of Microcredit, founder of Grameen Bank and the father of Social Business.
Professor Latifee serves as Member of a number of Boards of different microfinance organizations and social business entities in Bangladesh and other countries, including, Grameen America, Inc. in U.S.A, Grameen Credit Agricole Microfinance Foundation in Luxembourg, Family Bank in Bahrain, Grameen Carso in Mexico, Grameen in the UK, Grameen Microcredit Company in China, Grameen Italia Foundation, Grameen in Kosovo, Grameen Communications and Grameen Shakti in Bangladesh. He is also on the advisory board of several national and international organizations.
Professor Latifee led several fact finding missions in different countries of Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. He attended many international seminars, conferences and summits as key-note speaker and panelist. His writings on poverty and microfinance related issues are well appreciated
